CRMC Round 6 - Croft August 28/29th

Here's a surprise. Remember the engine temperatures at Lydden? Well Dogless's Moriwaki did a big end in practice.....so he went home in a huff.

Croft is a great circuit. Sadly it is located so far north you have to venture into unmapped territory to get there.

The first race was a great battle between God and E1. The Lydden hub problems were sorted and #1 bike was working well but had developed a slight misfire, which had also been present at Lydden.

God took the first race by half a bike, but only after lots of swapping of positions. Rob Hall had turned up for the second meeting in row on his TZed750 and was joining the battle albeit in the group 1 class. He also crossede the line another half a bike back! His bike was quite an even match for the big 4 strokes. E1 then got the holeshot in the second race and cleared off to take the group 2 win by a comfortable margin.

However, E1's misfire was getting worse. Analysis that evening with the beer can in hand put it down to fuel starvation and it was decided the tank wasn't venting properly. So we had the bright idea of taking the one way valve out of the breather pipe.......deeeeeeeeeeeer.

Sunday morning saw Dogless appear back at the circuit, big grin, with his TZ750 in the van! Well why not eh?

In the third race, nasty nigel got away and was riding as if he had a swarm of wasps in his leathers.......E1, Rob Hall and God were chasing hard. However, when braking hard for turn 1 on the second lap, tank nicely full of fuel, E1 found the brakes suddenly had this strange on/off effect..... the fuel had surged out of the breather and was pouring down onto the discs.... NICE. Net result, earth sky earth sky earth sky and a nasty case of gravel rash for the bike. Nill Points again.  Nasty went on to take the win, his first (and only) of the season.
