CRMC round 5 - Lydden August 21/22nd

Lydden was hot as usual and the racing suffered from lots of red flags.  Fallers included Planet, Flower Power and Mark Carkeek. Mark was hurt quite badly and we wish him a speedy recovery. Then one of the marshals most inconsiderately had a heart attack! I can say that cos I knowo he is now OK!

E1, God and Dogless had some great tussles. Nasty joined in the fun in the last race too. E1 was having handling problems and we later discovered the circlip that stops the bearings moving out in the rear wheel hub was missing and so the wheel kept moving sideways on the axle giving very odd results! E1 got a couple 3rd and a 4th. Again not what the doctor ordered and God's championship lead was now looking tough to beat.

As usual engine temperatures were monitored over the weekend. Dogless took the prize here as usual. But on this occaision his engine was glowing at 160°c at the end of one race. All others were around the expected 120°c..........OUCH!

LuckyDog had to overcome his large "off" from the previous year, which he did with no great success! He did buy a video nasty of the weekend's racing and learnt a few things, like he needs to move his arse off the seat and hang off a lot more!

This was the first outing for the new team member,  ToyBoy, on his ex Richard Peckett machine, thats the one, 17 front wheel, suzuki 41mm forks with electronic antidive, and four piston AP calipers. After some teething problems with the carburetters, the boy did well despite stalling it several times and getting cut up on cheshunt's drift!
